A Randomized, Multicenter, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, 18 Month Study
Of the Efficacy of Xaliproden with Mild-to-Moderate Dementia of the Alzheimer’s Type
The primary purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of xaliproden on cognitive function and global decline in patients with mild-to-moderate dementia of Alzheimer’s type in comparison to a placebo group of patients. A secondary purpose of this study is to assess the effect of xaliproden on the annualized rate of progression of hippocampal and whole brain atrophy as measured by MRI.
